MY ETERNAL HOUSE

One of my purposes in making Bizen pottary is to make my eternal house which contains my ashes.

A tea cup made by Hideyoshi (tradition says)

Hideyoshi, a famouse lord who reigned over the Azuchimomoyama era ( 1568-1600). He stopped over at Bizen on his way to Chugoku area and made this tea cup and gave it to his relative ,the Kinoshita family.

It is contained in an old , wooden, worm-eaten box.

For a long time I had been calling on my patient who was a descendant of the Kinoshitas. After he died, his wife gave this tea cup to me for his keepsake, whichi he had as a treasure of his house.
